The agency sought to build an online communications platform to support their task of bringing inward investment into the UK. We identified how they could use their valuable insight and expertise to achieve this objective. The UKTI were already generating content in the form of publications, research and reports. However much of it was held within the organisation and not distributed efficiently to key stakeholders, both internal and external to the organisation. Engage allows them to capture the key research and sales documents generated through the organisation, augment them with news stories, and then publish them both to an internal audience and through an external facing website and micro sites. They increased the visibly of their content they produce to influence online conversations with the right target audience, thereby asserting strong thought leadership in the foreign direct investment market.
Using taxonomy and syndication, their website is now the launch pad for distributing their specialist knowledge. UKTI’s Engage implementation combines their content with their database of contacts and customers. It is used across its network of worldwide staff and advisors internally (at department level) and externally (by all overseas embassies) to locate and publish up to date, attributable and accurate information. Through Engage, the UKTI has repositioned themselves as a hybrid consultancy and world-class business news and information provider to draw prospects into deeper engagement.
